Riggside Reviews

This was our second stay at Riggside and we can't fault it, it's such a lovely and homely place with amazing panoramic views. It's got all the facilities you need and lovely gardens at the front and back. We've come with extended family both times and it's lovely a spacious for everyone. The attic bedroom is particularly nice and spacious and we slept up here with our toddler due to the amount of space. I would note if you're bringing a young toddler or crawler, there are a lot of fun, climbable stairs with no baby gates so that's good to be aware of. Location is also great as Portinscale is a very nice village to walk around with a couple of cafe options, or Keswick is a 5 minute drive away or 1 mile walk all the way from the house. Overall a really great place to stay that we'd recommend to anyone

The Best Sykes Cottage that we have been in
Katherine
This was such a beautiful cottage in an amazing location. The garden space was a real bonus for us in some great weather.
This is such a lovely house in a great location, the views are outstanding. Everything in the house is of good standard and has everything you need for your stay. We did not want to leave this fantastic property one of the best we have stayed at. Very well maintained and clean, including the lovely garden areas. The owner rang us before we came to check we had received directions on how to get their, and was very easy to communicate with. All in all a great place to holiday, even the weather was kind to us. We would not hesitate to come back.
Brenda
We wanted a property that was convenient for Keswick and suitable for a mixed party of family and friends, Riggside was excellent for this. Great parking, quality fixtures and fittings and plenty of room. Fabulous dining table to easily seat us all. Any queries were quickly attended to by the owner. For the less able, the approach to the house is quite steep and the grassed area of the back garden isn't level but nothing spoiled our stay.
Vivienne
A lovely property with the most amazing views, short walk into Keswick and in a quiet location. Very well equipped and comfortable, fresh and smart. Lovely outside space for children. Very nice decor, even dvd's, magazines, books and maps. Everything has been thought of. We had a lovely stay.
Absolutely brilliant place to stay in the Lakes. Only negative was the ceramic hob was not hot enough, so it took 4 times longer for food to cook
Excellent holiday house, perfect for our gathering of old friends. Great location with lovely walks from the door and easy access to the Lake. Highly recommended.
Hannah
We loved our stay here, the house is well equipped for groups of guests which is great. So often places dont have enough chairsseats etc for the amount of people staying but we had everything we needed. Location was ideal as was the pub at the end of the road!

We loved the house. Perfect for our three generations family trip. Clean and well equipped.
A great house in a fantastic location. Brilliant views to the front, especially the main and single bedrooms. Walking out of the front door you immediately feel emersed in the amazing Lake District scenery. Spotlessly clean and welcoming, thank you.
Darren

Debbie
Beautiful house in a perfect location, lots of space, the only small thing I ... Beautiful house in a perfect location, lots of space, the only small thing I would say is the bath towels were tiny, some good sized bath sheets would be ideal, cant wait to return in the summer
I would highly recommend staying here. Excellent location and the house is superb. Will stay here again.
Spacious, clean and comfortable property in a fantastic location in the Lake District. Would definitely stay again.
Victoria
Lovely property, clean and well maintained, beautiful views, good location only 1015 minutes' walk from the centre of Keswick.
Beautiful views in an elevated trafficfree location in Portinscale but with easy access either by car or on foot to Keswick. The house was clean, spacious and comfortable and we felt that the owners cared about our holiday. The grassy area at the front was a great place for the children to run about and let off steam. We were lucky with the weather and found plenty of things to fill each day, including climbing Cat Bells and cycling along the old rail track to Threlkeld. We would not hesitate to return to this house in the future.
Wonderful house and very well equipped. Beds very comfortable. Situation was perfect for many walks .
