Heather's Cottage Reviews

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Heathers cottage. The place was fabulous, lots of extra touches to welcome us. Any questions we texted were answered immediately by Hannah who was a superstar. Only half an hours drive to most of our favourite places like Ullswater and Derwentwater. We cant wait to book again x
Victoria
Beautiful property, very well equipped and in a lovely location. The bedrooms are all a very good size and beds very comfortable. The kitchen, living and dining area is very spacious. We had a lovely stay at Heathers cottage.

Wow, what a beautiful home. You cant help but love it, and want to spend more time there. Very clean and modern with lots of space inside and out. Highly recommend a stay. Can't wait to return, hopefully later this year.
Heathers Cottage is home from home and was lovely and warm on our arrival, parking brilliant we were 6 friends meeting up with 3 cars, comfy beds great showers and plenty of space in living area, never seen a kitchen so well equipped. Dalston is pretty lots to see around the area too plus great pub just over the bridge from property. We shall definitely return to Heathers Cottage
Bridget
It is a beautiful place in a beautiful spot. We know the area, so were not surprised. We'd come back! The main snag is the lack of curtains on those huge windows, especially after dark! And the wall hung toilets creak ominously when you sit if you're not a sylph! The lack of mobile signal is an issue, obviously. And the other one is Sykes' insistence on having to book Friday to Friday. Most people would have to work the Friday before a holiday. But it was a success. Thank you.
Kimberley
Heathers Cottage was amazing! The welcome treats were a lovely touch on arrival after a long travel from Essex. The cottage was stunning both inside and out and had everything two families could need. There was lots of space for the children to play hide and seek. Lots of lovely walks near by and the local pub is a must for the best Sunday roast I have ever eaten. The communication with Alison before the holiday was excellent and it was also so nice to meet her too! We will definitely be back in the future.
Isobel

Shirley
A perfect stay from beginning to end, could not fault a thing. The cottage was absolutely beautiful with everything we needed. We were a party of 4 couples and there was plenty of space to eat, sleep and relax. Alison and David provided all the information we needed and even added a few extra special surprises for when we arrived. They were the perfect hosts. We will definitely be returning
Catherine
Beautiful cottage, well appointed and spacious for 8 people. Well equipped kitchen with everything you need. The host was very helpful providing us with detailed directions and local information. Great location on the edge of the village with good amenities. Lovely walks on the doorstep and a train station in the village if you want to leave the car. The pub over the bridge was welcoming and served delicious food. We would stay here again.
Richard
An amazing property in a lovely part of the world. Everything was fantastic
Leanne
Perfect place and very clean! We had the best time for my partners 30th and the hosts even got cakes, balloons banners, Prosecco and a lovely card! Couldnt have asked for anymore, would recommend this place to everyone.
Heathers cottage is an amazing place to stay. All mod cons, stunning rooms and very clean and tidy. The little personal touches are lovely. Pub just over the bridge and lovely walk into Dalston . All in all a wonderful place to stay. If you need anything the host is just a phone call away and nothing is any trouble.
This has to be one of the nicest properties we have ever stayed in. The hosts were very accommodating from the off. Quality fixtures and fittings and everything you need along with little extras like prosecco, flowers, cookies and fruit. Absolute immaculate property. Towels, bedding etc all of high quality. Only complaint was it was so good I want to move in!! Ohh that underfloor heating was just brilliant on a cold November day! We will certainly return and will be telling all our friends to book too cant recommend highly enough
Thomas
Me and the family stayed here recently for 2 nights and loved every minute of it. The hosts were very accommodating, made us feel so welcome and the cottage had every we needed for our stay. We arrived Friday evening to a warm, cozy home with a bottle of Prosecco waiting for us. Just outside of the cottage was 2 sheep, a donkey and a small horse and we were able to feed them with the food provided by the hosts. Over the two nights the kids and the rest of the family made memories all under the same roof that theyll remember forever. I cant praise the hosts enough! A truly amazing place that we would certainly be returning to.
Great stay, a well appointed place to stay and nicely done. Plenty of space and very close to local amenities, would definitely revisit in the future
From the minute I entered the property car park I was impressed with the standard of the exterior of the property and the surrounding garden. This carried on when we went into the property. It was immaculate. The property was furnished to an amazing standard with a fantastic kitchen and several bathrooms. We had no issues during our stay, but the owner had left an information pack with their contact numbers if you required assistance. I would highly recommend this property.
Claire
We stayed at this wonderful cottage to celebrate my dad's 70th Birthday. What an amazing house very spacious, high spec with everything you need for an extremely comfortable stay. We asked the cottage owner if they could do a little something for our arrival our expectations were exceeded. We were absolutely thrilled to find balloons and a banner, some bubbly, fresh cupcakes, fruit, flowers and even a card for Dad. So very thoughtful and kind we were all very touched and it made for a special start to our lovely long weekend, lots of memories made. Also worth a note that my dad has a mobility scooter. The outside path right from the front door to the road was perfect for him to navigate, so very well thought out. We walked to the Bridge Inn and also into Dalston. We would recommend a meal at the Bridge Inn with amazing food and sevice. We also visited the Bluebell pub and a local cafe in Dalston for drinks only, the food looked lovely in both and in the fish and chip shop!. We did go the butchers in Dalston and tried the local hot pasties, those were yummy. Don't hesitate to book this place, thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return!
Wonderful cottage. Spacious, very clean and everything you need for a lovely, cosy and comfortable stay. Highly recommend.
From start to finish Heathers Cottage was just perfect. A stunning property with everything you need and more. Alison the owner is such a lovely lady and more than happy to answer and queries immediately. We had the most relaxed weekend in perfect surroundings. I would not hesitate to recommend.

Just Beautiful, the cottage was immaculate. It was the perfect setting for a family getaway to celebrate a special occasion. The hosts were friendly and informative, and had thought of everything. The beds are so comfy and the outdoor furniture was gorgeous for relaxing in the sun. We wish we could have stayed longer. Dalston is a pretty little village, with a cafe, butchers and small supermarket. We ate at the Bridge End Inn and the food was delicious with huge portions. We would highly recommend a stay at Heathers cottage.
I couldnt rate this highly enough. We stayed to celebrate a 60th birthday and had an amazing time. The cottage has absolutely everything you could possibly need, was super clean and had lots of nice finishing touches milk in the fridge, a bottle of prosecco, cookies, fresh flowers and miniature toiletries. We had 5 adults and 2 young kids and there was plenty of space for us all, enough cutlery, crockery and glasses for us all and then some. Plastic cups and plates for the kids which we appreciated!! There was also tea, coffee & sugar, washing up liquid, washing tablets & fabric softener, hand wash in all bathrooms and plenty of pots, pans and trays for cooking. I cant think for anything that was missing. The local area is lovely, the town centre was lovely for a wander, the Bridge End Inn served good food and Walby Farm Park was a hit with the kids. The owners were so helpful & friendly, we would definitely recommend a visit here.

We had a lovely week at Heather's Cottage. Alison went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The house sleeps eight, but there was plenty of space for day visitors. Everything was of the highest standard. Dalston has some lovely walks, and it is within easy reach if Carlisle, Caldbeck and the Lake District. I would highly recommend this delightful house.

I would highly recommend visiting Heathers Cottage. The kitchen was well equipped, i liked the finishing touches such as the fruit bowl and flowers. I also liked how spacious the property was.
Beautiful cottage, very spacious. Lots of lovely little touches which make you feel very welcome, great stay!
Catherine
Everything about the property was great! Lots and lots of space and finished to a very high spec. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and was ideal for cooking and chatting. Big fridge and freezer which matters when you are self catering. The outside space is lovely too, and would be wonderful to sit out in warmer months. The owners were extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. We regularly try to get away as a family group and this is one of the best properties that we have stayed in.
Heathers Cottage is absolutely beautiful so well designed and equipped . We are sure to recommend to all family and friends.
Jonathan
We stopped here as two families and had such an amazing time. The accommodation is perfect, with so many well thought of features. The location was great too and we enjoyed a walk into the village. The prosecco and cookies also went down a treat thank you! Our only slightly negative was that it was quite warm despite us turning the heating down. But this didn't really alter our experience at all. Would definitely recommend and rebook, thanks!
This cottage was amazing. Very clean and modern. In an ideal place . Took family for my husband's birthday and our grandson loved it. He had horses in the field a donkey and a couple of sheep which he loved to see every day. Pub just a walk over the bridge with good food. Owners just on the end of the phone if you needed anything . Lovely gesture with fruit, bubbly and biscuits awaiting us. Would highly recommend this property.
