Hazelmere Reviews

Wonderful size for our party of 10. 3 couples and Four single adult children. Everyone had their own space and bathroom. Communal spaces a great size to fit everyone. Really handy for Keswick and the top end of the lakes. Couldnt recommend it more !
Hazelmere was comfortable, warm a bit dusty but overall clean. Some of the furniture is a little bit dated but overall fine. Only problem was the bathroom in the king twin room which is an unfortunate shape. We had a great time and would book again.
Andrew
With 3 family generations to consider, we really lucked out with Hazelmere! No mad dashes for bathrooms, as all rooms are ensuite, and we had very happy teens! Keswick is in an excellent spot for walks, activities, bike hire, good hikes, food and Booths. The house is well equipped, spotlessly clean and comfortable, and one small issue was resolved the next day, sorted! Hazelmere is the perfect combination of home from home and holiday adventure, the Lake District is icing on the cake.
Great house for a large group
Phillip
The couple who own the property are warm and hospitable, we felt very welcomed. The house is fully equipped and kept to a high standard of function and cleanliness, its spacious inside and ideally situated for both the town and the park and easy to reach. Parking is fantastic with spaces for 4 cars. This was our second visit and there will be more.
Alistair
Hazelmere was just perfect for a party of six couples. The house is as described comfortable ,spacious, clean, with plenty utensils , crockery and amenities for a truly self catering experience! The off street parking is a huge bonus for up to six vehicles. Loved this accomodation and would return again if available! Thank you to all concerned!
An excellent property that really fitted the bill and was clean and well equipped. Excellent location. We would have no hesitation in going back this year apart from the increase in price.
Kathryn
Very pleasant house in an ideal position in Keswick. Everything you could need for a few days stay. It would be even better if there was a downstairs toilet but not a dealbreaker.
What a fantastic house to spend time with family and friends. There is nothing negative to say about Hazelmere, the Owner had thought of everything to make one's stay a comfortable one, home from home. It was lovely and warm and well cared for. On looking through the guest book, everyone who has stayed there loved their time spent here.
We had a fabulous time, the house was well equipped and comfortable with room for us all to sit together, both to relax and to eat. The fact that all the bedrooms were ensuite was a definite plus and meant no queuing before we went out. The bottle of wine was a lovely touch, thank you, and we loved the wide selection of wine glasses! It would have been handy to have more than one key but we managed. The bulb in the light outside the back door was very dim and so it was dark out there and a bit of a trip hazard. These were just minor things and I have recommended the property to several people since returning and would book to stay there again in the future.
Sandra
Had a fabulous Christmas at Hazelmere 9 adults , 2 children and 2 dogs plenty of room for everyone. Lovely comfortable, relaxing home , very well equipped and great communication with the owners. Situated in easy access of Keswick shops walks and lake . We all had a wonderful time and highly recommend would love to visit again . Thank you for Christmas treats very thoughtful x
Great property for a big family! Very accommodating for everyone. We really liked that there was a lot of space for us all to be together but also there was the option to go off to your own room if needed. Which was made easy by there being a bathroom and TV in every bedroom. Great location as well, five mins away from the centre of Keswick. We were also grateful for the amount of parking available as we had all travelled from different places. Communication was great with the hosts as well, when asked if we wanted one of the rooms as a double or 2 singles. We would stay here again!
Lovely house, fantastic location. The house was not as clean as expected on arrival, but much cleaner on departure. An indoor downstairs toilet would of made a huge difference for the elderly in our group. Really surprised to find there wasn't a hairdryer.
Donald
Excellent accommodation for a large group. Central location with ample parking. Close to town centre and Fitz park.
Minnie
Hazelmere is a lovely house in the most fantastic location. The house was beautifully clean when we arrived and everyone was comfortable in their rooms. The kitchen had sufficient pots and pans for our cooking and the coffee machine with pods supplied was much appreciated. We enjoyed exploring the town and did several of the walks suggested in the helpful information for guests booklet. So much is walkable that the cars stayed out in their designated spaces for most of the week. We did have a problem with a light switch in one of the bathrooms, and when we reported it, a lovely chap appeared very quickly to sort it out. It was such a lovely holiday, we would recommend it in an instant!
Great house in great location , everything you need on hand. Perfect for large group of 12 with plenty of space for everyone.
Hazelmere is in a perfect location for Keswick and all the amenities the town offers, only a short walk into the center. The house is large, all rooms spacious, immaculately kept and offering a perfect stay for a large group such as ours. There is ample parking for 67 cars which itself is a bonus in Keswick. We hope to return as a family in the near future. Thank you again to the owner.
Our group of 10 family and friends thoroughly enjoyed our week at Hazelmere. The location is fantastic with a short walk into Keswick either by road or through Fitz Park. The A66 is two minutes away giving easy access to all the Lakes has to offer. The House itself satisfied all our needs including extremely comfortable beds. A hiccup with the electricity was dealt with immediately. We look forward to returning to Hazelmere in the future.
Carole
Property was excellent for our family gathering and easily accommodated all 12 adults. Great to have private bathrooms in all the bedrooms. Kitchen had everything you could possibly need. Great facilities including a boot room with washing machine and drier. Parking spaces were great as this can be an issue in Keswick. Outdoor space, including 2 picnic benches was a bonus. Very well located, walking distance to town centre. Owners were very helpful.
This is the perfect holiday home for 12 people from 3 generations. A short walk into the centre of Keswick and all the facilities 7 bedrooms and all en suite and TVs, too comfortable furnishings, great kitchen and absolutely all facilities you could want for a warm and dry, or cold and wet stay...we've had both! Lots of parking space for 4 or 5 cars. Dropped a star on maintenance but it only needed a loo seat tightened and a tap that was loose....both sorted by the owners when we reported them. Can't wait to go back next year!
The property description is a bit ridiculous, however it is mostly accurate, and the property was a great base for a large extended family ranging from toddlers to grandparents. Having a shower in each room is a huge advantage, and the kitchen is mostly well equipped. The younger generation were disappointed not to find remotes for the bedroom TVs, and the WiFi signal keeps cutting out. It seems a petty complaint after a busy day, it is nice to watch TV sometimes, and the TV setup is disappointing.
Michelle
Great location, 5 minute walk into keswick close to all shops, bar and restaurants. There was loads of parking at the back of the house, room in the utility for all our bikes, lovely outdoor area. Inside the house was well equipped, loads of room we were a party of 10. The rooms all had bathrooms great showers comfy beds. Kitchen well equipped and lots of seating in the dinning room. We loved it so much we want to book again.
Ideal property for Grandparents and two families of 4, with teenage children. Haxzemere was well maintained and had everything we needed. There was plenty to do in the surrounding area and just a short walk into Keswick.
Kathryn
Lovely large property ideal for a group of 8 friends. Bedrooms very comfortable and kitchen very wellequipped. We were able to walk into Keswick centre where there are plenty of pubs, restaurants and cafs and buses to many places in the lakes.
Hazelmere was a great location for a group of walkers. Could do local walks as well as venture further. Parking facilities particularly useful. Only note we would make is that the TVs in some of the rooms did not seem to work. Not that important as we did not spend much time in our rooms.
Phillip
Thank you so much for our wonderful holiday! We had a really comfortable and well equipped place to get out every day exploring the region we love so much. Our extended family ranged in age from grandma to her great granddaughter and everyone enjoyed staying at Hazelmere very much. We look forward to booking with you again soon. Phil & Maria
A lovely house but some of the bathrooms were a little cramped. Perhaps smaller hand basins would facilitate their use. Good quality carpets and furniture. We may be back!
Christine
We loved staying at this property. As a group that included couples and single people working each day with adults with learning disabilities at the Keswick Convention, we found that Hazelmere was ideal to relax at the end of the day, to share a meal and chill. There is plenty of space, comfort and facilities in such a convenient location and plenty of offstreet parking too. We've already booked for 2024!
Excellent accommodation for a big family group, we had a lovely stay and would visit again. Hazelmere is well appointed with everything you'll need, and a bathroom in every bedroom is a real bonus. Keswick is a fantastic base for a family holiday with plenty to do in the local area. The town centre is just 5 minutes walk away with plenty of pubs and places to eat.
Michael
Great property. Our second stay for a family gathering. Clean, well equipped and good sized rooms. Located a short walk from town centre with easy access to and through Fitz park. Very pleased with our visit, helped by kind weather!
Good location. Spotless clean, modern kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine. Absolutely ideal for group gatherings
Excellent property accommodated all of us perfectly, Beds were all very comfy and all ensuites a real bonus Would definitely recommend and are looking to book for our next extended family weekend away.
Catherine
Beautiful spacious home in a great location. Loved the fact that each bedroom had its own bathroom. Really well equipped with great parking facilities.
Caspian
We all had a lovely stay, the house was amazing, very well equipped for such a big group. Really spacious with lovely bedrooms and loads of parking!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Close to Keswick town centre and amenities. The little extras just made it. Would definitely recommend and would definitely come again.
Generously sized holiday house within easy walking distance of Keswick town centre and attractions, plus a friendly Jennings pub just up the road. The kitchen was well equipped, inc. 2 fridges, washing, drying and dishwasher machines, large sofas in the living room, large dining table and a range of comfy beds for single and double sleepers each bedroom has its own keys for the room and house giving max flexibility for doing different things. We had an enjoyable week with wonderful weather. Outside space includes multiple parking spaces and washing line, but the gardens are open so if you take a dog beware to keep an eye on it so it does not run out into the road. Great views to the river and fells. Wifi coverage was good throughout the house, TVs in the bedrooms were older LCDs not smartTVs.
Sarita
Really lovely stay at Hazelmere, the whole family loved the property and was perfect for our needs with everyone having own bathroom and utility space for the dogswalking boots etc. The house was cosy on rainy days with big living room and dining space, and nice outdoor space for when the sun was out. Only feedback was that the area was not enclosed for dogs but this wasn't a problem. Also no outdoor seating so if you have camping chairs and plan to sit outside it was good to have those. There were lovely features including coffee machine, some wine and snacks on arrival, boardgames and information book for the local area. The beds were comfy and the house was clean and kept to a good standard. Communication with the owner was easy, they were friendly and helpful. The area is perfect with a park leading to town 2 minutes walk away. Lots of parking on site too. We definitely want to come stay again and best holiday we've had in the lakes, lots of things to do in the area we rented kayaks and paddle boards at Derwent Marina and did lots of walks, sunset at Lattrigg was a highlight and walk up Catbells on a clear day was amazing.
Hazelmere is in an excellent location ideal for access to the town and its amenities. The interior is spacious enough for large groups and the bedrooms are big enough to swing a cat with great storage, tvs ,huge beds and ensuite facilities. Our only gripe was with the patio area and rear garden, the patio is dirty and could do with a good clean and the addition of some seating and tables for out door dining. Similarly the garden is rather unkempt and doesnt take advantage of the sunshine and spectacular view. Perhaps its a work in progress. This wouldnt deter us from booking again! Just a note for the owner, there is a loose socket in bedroom 1, the shower head mounts are loose causing the heads to drop and there are no pegs for hanging washing on the line ,hope you dont mind me mentioning that.
Barbara
Fabulous house. Very clean & well equipped. Perfect location for walking. Parked our cars on arrival & didnt use them again until departure. Would happily recommend the property.
