Blencathra Reviews

Great cottage. Perfect location. We walked from the door every day and didnt need to car all week. Very good kitchen with everything you need to make a meal. A fantastic space! The glass dining table moves on its legs and isnt particularly safe with little children. Also the cottage could do with a bigger teapot that doesnt leak! Overall a great week with the family.

Absolutely loved our stay, lovely spacious house with everything we needed. Great location for walking to centre of Keswick and enjoying all it has to offer, and lots of local hill walks and attractions. A couple of things could make this house absolutely perfect so will pop them here firstly the bar stools in the kitchen are completely at the end of their life, noticed this has been mentioned in previous reviews, we did have a good laugh trying to sit on them whilst they were either super high or keeling over to the side

Beautiful house, best nights sleeps I have ever had. Great location close to all local amenities with stunning views of surrounding hills and valleys. Would highly recommend this property and can't wait to book for 2026. Just a few maintenance points to make peoples stay even more enjoyable... The bar stools could do with replacing as there were only two that were usable and they did need tightening a number of times. The living room coffee table could also do with replacing as the glass is only placed on top and is completely unsecure could be dangerous for anyone with smallyoung children. the bathroom door on the first floor does not shut properly maybe an alignment issue. The seal around the Shower may need replacing as it appears to have deteriorated in some areas. Be sure that these few minor maintenance points will not stop us from booking again though. beautiful house which was perfect for our family of 5 and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Blencathra.

This is a lovely clean and very spacious property. The only cons the fire alarm outside the shower is VERY sensitive. Even with the extractor fan on it went off a couple of times until we all remembered to shut the door after leaving the shower. Parking was difficult arrivng on the Friday evening of a very busy bank holiday weekend but we found something suitable eventually and the Tesco delivery seemed to accept they had to carry the food a little way to our front door. However, these were minor points for great accommodation. With 6 adults and a dog we could spread out downstairs between the snug behind the kitchen and living room at the front. This is a nicely styled and well equiped property, plenty of good! cooking utensils and enough crockery to not have to constantly wash up. Great location for walking acess to Keswick. Highly recommended!

The property was fantastic, had all the utensils we required and definitely exceeded our expectations. There was plenty of room throughout the house which was perfect for our family. The location was ideal too as it allowed us to explore the local area without always having drive. Absolutely loved our week there and will definitely look at going back again in the future.
We really enjoyed our stay at Blencathra. Only minor negatives were the one shower for 8 people and roadside parking for loadingunloading luggage but we considered this before booking and would certainly return in the future. We looked on Google maps and thought there was a local car park we could use but found it was private on arrival. We could usually get the two cars close to the house. The location was great for us with easy access to town and hill walking from the door. The house is spacious and we never felt we were under one anothers feet. The fridge freezer is massive and great for a big group.

We had a great stay and really enjoyed the house. Great location, just a 510 min walk to the centre, or the lake, lovely park nearby. The owner was very receptive when we reported the bin wasn't emptied. Just a few little things that stopped me giving 5 stars 2 of the rooms didn't have a mirror other than a tiny free standing one by the sink in one, the twin room didn't have a bin or a bedside light so very small things that would make quite a difference. But generally a wonderful place to stay with a luxury feel. Thank you very much!
It is a great, modern, stunning place to visit Lakes. Veeeeery is highly recommended. We will be back Top place

Lovely house in a great location! The house was perfect for our group and a great base for our walking and sporting activitieshighly recommended!
Great property and location. High end kitchen and bathroom. Spacious. Only constructive criticism would be that if you were sharing say between 2 families I.e max capacity of 8, one bathroom is limiting despite 3 toilets. Could do with more seating especially at the rear of kitchen near log burner. Few more saucepans would be ideal and a stock of logs for the log burner. Small improvements would have made 5 star review rather than 4. Still had a great time and would go back, albeit we stayed as a family of 4.
Fantastic property, great family space and 4 double rooms. Visiting family in Keswick, this property was perfectly positioned, a short walk to the centre. Will definitely book again. Thanks.

We loved the property! Great location, beautiful house with so much space and amenities. It was all at such a high standard. The location was close to town and the wonderful Fitz Park in a very quiet neighborhood. If possible we would love to book it again for a week next August?
Very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Spotlessly clean. Great communal spaces.
Such a lovely well laid out accommodation with lots of surprising adding extras will recommend to others.

Great holiday home in a great location very central to Keswick, a 5 minute walk into the town centre. Spacious and very clean property. Would definitely return.
