Thirty Blencathra Street Reviews

Alasdair
Excellent location, kitchen superbly equipped, showers excellent, beds very comfortable. Lots of games to play and TV options very good. Parking straightforward. Minor problem with heating dealt with quickly and effectively on a weekend! Minor issue with dog hairs on a living room blanket affecting an allergy sufferer soon resolved
Lovely cottage great for a familly get together.
Excellent location, less than 5 minutes walk to Keswick town centre! The property had plenty of space for our group of six adults would be perfectly suited for up to eight. The kitchen was big and wellequipped, with a lovely large dining room for shared meals. Beds were very comfortable, and the bathrooms were great too. Having a washer, dryer, and dishwasher was a real bonus. We also appreciated the many books, puzzles, and games dotted around the house, perfect for rainy days. Parking is on the street and although sometimes it was busy, we managed to find spaces for all three cars fairly easily. Overall, a fantastic stay we would definitely stay again!
Every little detail had been considered and it made for a truly wonderful holiday.
This was the second year in a row that we've stayed here and we are hoping to book again for next year which is testimony to just how lovely this place is! We are a party of 8 adults and there is plenty of space, it's very well equipped, and most importantly feels like a home from home. The communication from the owner is second to none, they are so welcoming. There's some lovely personal touches which adds to the whole experience.
Christine
Great house, but the downstairs bedroom needs blinds, or nets for privacy. Had to keep the curtains closed 247.
Pauline
A fantastic house very close to everything house had everything we needed would definitely book again
Shirley
Exactly what was promised a fabulously well appointed, well equipped family holiday home. We were three generations of family so comfort, space and ease was so important. We especially loved the little touches everything had been thought of in the kitchen ornaments and art work were gorgeous beds were sooo comfortable. We would love to come back.
Lovely, spacious house that was great for our family holiday with adult children and grandchild. Dog friendly for two dogs, which is a necessity for us. We will definitely go back if we need a large property again. Property is in a good location, close to the town.
Michael
Great place to stay will certainly book again in the future Many Thanks to you and the owners
Spacious property with excellent facilities. Kitchen was well equipped. The children really enjoyed the sweets and snacks that were left, some milk and bread or more practical items would have been nice.
It would to have soap in the soap dispensers
Doreen
The house had many positive aspects. It was incredibly spacious, with a wellequipped kitchen and clean, comfortable beds. However, several areas needed attention. For example, the staircase spindles, skirting boards, and en suite bathroom were quite dusty. Additionally, the radiator and area around the toilet needed cleaning, and the cabinet in the bathroom was rusty inside, making it unusable. The wardrobe in the adjoining room had a musty odour, making it unsuitable for hanging clothes. Lastly, the front garden needed tidying up,
This is a perfect house, really homely with beautiful quality furnishings and equipped to a very high standard. The view and sunsets from the picture lounge window are stunning. We were a group of eight adults and there was plenty room to dine and socialise together. Communication from the owner was excellent too and we were made to feel so welcome. There are some beautiful personal touches including information upon the history of the house in a really helpful information file. In terms of location, it is perfect for a very short walk into Keswick. We were always able to find a parking spot close by too. We would stay again in a heartbeat!
The property was lovely but does need some decorating as looks a bit tired ... The property was lovely but does need some decorating as looks a bit tired especially in the bathrooms as there is a lot of mold in the sealant especially around the shower trays
Beds and bedding require a serious upgrade all pillows at end of life stuffing is all in balls within the main bag have been washed too often and mattress covers missing and mattresses baubled and uncomfy. The dishwasher didn' t actually clean anything and we had to rewash by hand and then not use the utility cupboard with the wm and tumble dryer was very unclean hadn't been cleaned for some time again we didn't use as the dryer is too high to reach ... the bathrooms ' grouting all very grubby around showers and baths also the skirting boards were very dusty .
Lovely property, second time we have stayed here. Owner should know that one of the garden benches was rotten in one corner and broken, a liability waiting to happen also, two of the double beds only had mattress protectors on one half of the bed. None of these issues spoiled our visit and we would recommend to anyone.
Charles
Great property in a great location. Three generations and two dogs had a fantastic time. No concern parking three cars close to the property and the small back yard is a real trap.
Lovely Christmas stay. Cosy and comfy. Great location, Keswick town 5 minute walk.
Lesley
Beautiful house, well equipt. Extreemly comfortable beds. Excellent location within 5 min walk to keswick bars, restaurants and shops. Very good base for exploring the lake district using cheap regular bus route. No problem getting 2 cars parked in street outside house. Owner Sheryl was welcoming and very helpful Will definitely book again
Anthony
Only one point, the bins were full out the back, other than that we had a wonderful stay and throughly enjoyed our stay.
Had an issue with one of the showers not draining away properly and it leaked onto kitchen ceiling, but there were two other showers to use and did not spoil our holiday in any way. Had a lovely stay at this holiday home.
Excellent house in Keswick. Very clean and all home comforts. Great position. Downstairs bedroom would benefit from blinds maybe but loved view from living room. Radio didnt work in kitchen
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 30 Blencathra. The house was lovely and the kitchen was very well equipped. The house is in a great location, very handy for Fitz Park.
Samantha
We 7 adults and 2 dogs stayed for 5 nights over NYE and had a lovely time! The house is beautiful and so thoughtfully done, everything was perfect! I was a little worried about finding parking given that the house doesnt have a driveway but the on street parking is plenty and we didn't struggle at all.
We had a wonderful stay at 30 Blencathra Street. The owner Sheryl contacted us before travelling to ensure we had all we needed. The house is beautiful, very clean and extremely comfortable, the cookingserving eating and drinking facilities are plentiful and perfect. We wanted for nothing at all. We were greeted by a beautiful Christmas hamper which was a lovely surprise and definitely very welcoming. We would definitely recommend this cottage to families or groups of friends.
Really beautiful property that has been well thought out and renovated in a sympathetic tasteful way . It worked perfectly for us with 6 adults and one 12 year old and was great being so close to Keswick Town. Plenty of hot water for the rain showers and deep luxury bath. Bedding and mattresses of good quality . Well equipped kitchen making cooking a pleasure with the top notch appliances. Great views too. We wanted to book for Christmas 2023 but was a bit too high for us compared to others but no doubt will return one day.
Suzanne
We had a really lovely stay at Thirty Blencathra Street. There were five of us plus dog and we found the facilities were ideal plenty of bathrooms, comfy bedrooms and lots of plates, glasses, mugs, etc. The dining space was great for sociable meals and the lovely kitchen was well equipped for cooking as well as being light and airy. We loved the upstairs living room with its plentiful sofas and chairs, and amazing views of Skiddaw and Latrigg both of which were scaled by various members of our group! We also appreciated the heating was chilly outside, even in September! The whole house has been renovated really well while also keeping its character. The location was perfect for us we parked the cars and didn't use them again as there are so many walks from the doorstep plus all the shops, cafes and restaurants in Keswick itself. One of my favourite features was being able to pop out to the icecream parlour after dinner! Must also say how helpful Sheryl the owner was great communication and made us feel welcome and that we could report any issues easily. Very much hope to come back soon!
Loved it! Very comfortable, very clean. Kitchen well supplied with utensils, crockery etc. Largest set of games I've seen in a holiday home, and good set of books. Clearly a lot of thought and care put into preparing the home. Minor maintenance points radiator in the bathroom the one with bath and shower was leaking very slightly near the thermostatic valve A ceiling recessed lamp at the very top of the stairs was faulty flashing Shower in main bathroom wasn't draining very well. But these were very minor issues it's a great house!
Dorothy
What a fantastic house it had everything you could wish for and more the beds ... What a fantastic house it had everything you could wish for and more the beds where fantastic cooking facilities were great we didn't want to come home the owners should be very proud
Beautiful and well thought out cottage in an excellent location in the centre of Keswick. The owners have thought of absolutely everything to ensure a comfortable stay and we really appreciated the lovely welcome basket.
This is the best equipped holiday home I have been to. I would highly recommend it. Beautiful large rooms and the kitchen and dining area were fantastic.
The house is very well equipped and extremely comfortable with lovely large rooms, many with views towards Skiddaw. The location is perfect, with easy access on foot to Keswick and a huge number of beautiful walks you dont need to use a car. We would definitely recommend this house.
Carrie
The description was accurate, however the reality of having the living on the 1st floor with two bathrooms next to each other on a corridor but no downstairs toilet with a kitchendining & bedroom didnt work for us as a family of 5 with a dog. The decor was lovely, everywhere was really clean, and the quality of the beddingpillowsmattresses was great. The many games was really appreciated and the TV package with really good wifi was a hit with the kids!!!
The house is in a perfect location, the kitchen well equipped, dog crate was very useful. The house was warm, plenty of hot water, comfortable beds etc. Blankets, x box and selection of board games was a very welcome addition.
Great location, plenty of space. The cleanest carpets we have ever had in a holiday property which was lovely as a fan of yoga!!!
