Limhus House Reviews

We booked the house for a weekend away with our grown up children and their partners, and we loved the space and facilities in the house. The bedrooms were comfortable, with plenty of bathrooms for us all to have one per couple, and the garden and balcony overlooking the mountains was a huge bonus. We appreciated the ample parking and being able to walk into Keswick without having to take the cars. It is a lovely house, well equipped and we'd definitely recommend it.
Excellent property in a perfect position, views from balcony and windows absolutely beautiful. Everything you need in this property, one thing we all would of preferred were comfortable seats with backs on around the kitchen table where a lot of time is spent eating and playing games etc. Would definitely return to this excellent property in the near future.
Christopher
Nice property with plenty of space and well located for a short walk into Keswick. Large garden great for kids and is well equipped.
Joanne
This is our second time staying here and we have booked again for next year. The house is comfortable, well equipped and the views from the back are just stunning.
We really enjoyed our stay at Limhus House. It is a good size property with plenty of space. It has lovely views of the mountains from the front and rear windows, and its location is very convenient for walking into Keswick. It is decorated and furnished very well, with the beds in particular being nice and comfortable. We enjoyed it that much we are planning on going back!
Lovely house just on the edge of Keswick. Has everything youd need for a great stay and the views of the mountains at the back are amazing. Garden is huge and fully enclosed so great for the dog. A couple of tweaks lamps in hall dining room and the water pressure and very very hot temperatures sorting and it would be perfect!
Lovely 4 bed semi detached house. Place was clean on arrival, included towels and other key essentials. Lovely views from the back of the house up to the mountains hills. Lovely week FYI, something odd with the water pressure didn't impact us, if you turn the bath fully on in the main bathroom, the shower in there turns off.
We had a lovely stay at Limhus house with our family which included 3 young children. The rooms are spacious and clean, the beds were comfortable and it easily felt like a home away from home. The views from the back are amazing, the kids loved riding their bikes in the back garden. Just a 510 minute walk into Keswick, it was a great location. Would highly recommend to families and couples and would certainly consider booking again for a future visit to Keswick.
We had an amazing time at Limhus. It had everything we needed and was a great base for exploring Keswick and the lakes.
Rachel
Lovely spacious house very close to Keswick and wonderful walks from the house. House was clean and had everything we needed. Comfy beds and two bedrooms with balconies where we enjoyed some sunny breakfasts! The views from all windows are wonderful and the house has a lovely garden too. Great to have onsite parking. Highly recommend. Will definitely return.
Joanne
We have just got back from a weekend at this lovely house to celebrate my Mums 80th The owners have clearly taken onboard feedback relating to pots, pans, oven trays etc as there were plenty. The house itself is in a perfect position with stunning views both to the front and the back. Our dog loved the garden as did we. We have already booked to go back again next year!
Michelle
Our 2nd visit, see you next year. Lovely holiday
We loved this property and will definitely be back . Its fantastically warm and comfortable in every way . The views from front and back are breathtaking Skiddaw at back , Casey Pike at front ! and its a five minute walk into Keswick and ten to lake trail . We would suggest provision of a large lidded casserole and one more big saucepan . Most importantly that beautiful kitchen diner needs two lamps for the dining end we brought bedroom lamps downstairs because one bedroom was unoccupied due to illness . Super holiday property .

The house was generally very pleasant and of course we loved the area. The accommodation was very spacious, beautifully decorated and clean, and the beds were particularly comfortable. However, the items provided in the kitchen require urgent reassessment. Although the plates, glasses and cutlery were good, there were no dishes suitable for cooking anything in the oven no casserole, no pie dish, no roasting tin, nothing suitable for cooking for the residents of a house for eight. No scales or measuring jug none of the basics. This made catering for the group really tricky and necessitated the purchase of a suitable dish, which Sykes and the owner refused to refund. Although it didn't spoil our holiday, it did present a degree of inconvenience which we have never experienced in any of the many cottages we've stayed in over the years. It was unexpected, particularly given the quality and cost of the accommodation. And the refusal to refund or provide something left an unfortunate lasting impression.
An excellent, well equipped and spacious property. Easy walk into the centre of Keswick. Great views.
Stephanie
Fantastic stay in a beautiful home. Perfectly located within short walking distance of Keswick town. 4 large doubleking bedrooms with plenty of room for 6 adults, a toddler and a baby and everything that comes along with them! Kitchen had everything we needed and the lovely big flat garden was a bonus! Our stay was a very lastminute reunion with family from around the world this home really made it for us. I would recommend to friends and hope to stay again if we return to Keswick! Thank you for a lovely experience.

The property was immaculately clean, the kitchen and dining area are great for 8 people. The garden is superb for those with dogs.Having the towel rails come on for a while each day was a good idea. The shower pressure upstairs is not good and 2 towels were stained but still clean. I would have liked 2 pillows in the main master bedroom. Good location, 10 minutes walk to the market square. We realised the front en suite shower was leaking on Wednesday. I tried to contact sykes about it but received no response. I was worried that the message had not been passed on for repair so put a note in the shower to make sure the next guests did not use it. I tried the message service online and the whatsapp but received no response.
Limhus House is a fabulous 4 bedroomed property, comfortable, well maintained, clean property with the benefit of 2 ensuites and off road parking for 2 cars. It also has a balcony to the two rear bedrooms with amazing views. Ideal for a morning cuppa if the sun is shining.
Limhus House is a fabulous place to stay, very spacious and comfortable. The views are outstanding and its only 5 to 10 minute walk in to the centre of Keswick. We 6 adults, a 3 year old and a dog had a great time, and would certainly book again if we return to Keswick.
We were two families holidaying together, it is a lovely house, perfectly located for all activities in and around Keswick. The kitchen is fitted to provide all options for catering for all group sizes, the reception room and kitchen were great to be spend time with each other.
Lesley
Limhus House was the perfect venue for a get together with our family. It is in an ideal position, just 10 mins walk to shops, parks & restaurants when needed. Limhus house is really well equipped, clean, lovely decor & very spacious. We were sad to leave but would love to return & sit on the balcony again overlooking Skiddaw.
This is the first time we've booked accommodation like this and we were somewhat apprehensive. The house is as it was advertised on the Sykes Cottages website although we immediately thought it was better than we expected. We were seven, three generations gathered to celebrate an eightieth birthday. The clean, modern accommodation added to our celebrations. The beds were comfortable, the table and seating ideal. The kitchen fittings were high quality and easy to use. That the heating and hot water were adjustable also helped. The gas fire caused some problems but we rang Sykes in Chester and soon after, a maintenance engineer arrived and corrected the fault. Can I find a problem? Maybe the addition of a couple of hooks to hang a kitchen towel and a tea towel will help. Will we book with Sykes again? We already have.
We had a wonderful stay at Limhus house. As a family of four, it was very spacious and had everything we needed. Such a great location, we didnt need to use the car all week. We were really sad to leave and will hopefully be back one day!
