Chapel Cottage Reviews

A wonderful weekend in a beautiful cottage in a stunning location. We spent a lovely afternoon walking in Ennerdale Water, and evenings by the fire playing board games.
Thank you for a lovely stay in Chapel Cottage over Christmas. The perfect spot for our families!
There was no washing machine. This should have been made clear. The cottage was dusty with a lot of cobwebs. We found the interior decor didn't match the nature of a country cottage ie many large elephant ornaments and Eastern figures, which added to the dark feel of the place. The sitting room could be improved by the removal of the lampstand with the huge paper lampshade, and adding quality lamps. The cottage was warm. We appreciated the good quality bedding, hob and cooker, and the reclining chairs in the sitting room. If the disused kitchen was converted into a utility room, it would make it much better. Normally we receive a welcome pack with a pint of milk and a loaf of bread. We also generally find olive oil, baking foil and clingfilm in the kitchen. The whole place could be massively improved with removal of the ornaments and brightening the decor.
